Naftagaz-Drilling celebrating the Safety Day with zero accidents

Today, 28 April, we are celebrating the International World Safety Day (also known as the Workers’ Memorial Day)!  43 NaftaGaz employees are responsible for this important and necessary task of enforcing all standards and preventing emergency situations in the area of occupational safety.

Our employees’ efficiency has been attested to by a qualitative measure – 0 accidents and incidents in the area of occupational safety in Q1 2021.
“Health and safety are our priority!” is among NaftaGaz’s essential rules. We treat HSE issues as our top priority. We continuously upgrade the processes, deliver training, and distribute information materials on this subject among our employees and contractor employees. The company initiates and holds meetings between the representatives of the oilfield service industry and responsible persons of the customers in the relevant area.

The history of occupational safety efforts in Russia exceeds 100 years. In 1882, the factory inspection was created to oversee and supervise compliance with occupational safety by factory owners, primarily, in respect of children and teenagers. In 1903, the government adopted the Rules providing for compensation to employees in the factory, mining, and metallurgical industries injured in accidents and their family members.

The Workers’ Memorial Day was introduced in 2003 at the initiative of the International Labour Organisation to attract attention to occupational safety issues. The Workers’ Memorial Day is celebrated in 50 countries across the world.
